The face of the moon was in shadow
Plug N Play Solutions have worked with a leading global designer and manufacturer of electric vehicle systems to create a market first in the industrial electric vehicle industry. This partnership aimed to provide a unique, remotely configurable control system that had not been done before.
The brief provided by the PnP customer was:
- The ability to provide their own customers with a remote web interface where the parameters of the machine could be read only.
- Provide the PnP customer with a totally separate interface so that they could see the settings on their control system and change them remotely if required.
The protocol used to change the control system settings was CAN Open, however, it was very unique in the way that it operated.
The Galileosky device was then programmed to receive these commands and to send customised CAN messages to the control system which matched those on the web interface:
In return, the control system sent a CAN message back, which the Galileosky device then sent to the server to confirm that the setting was correctly executed.
The system was a success but this was only possible because of the collaborative approach taken; including working alongside the customer for over two days at their facility.
