PNP have successfully developed a battery driven control system for a leading UK manufacturer.

The requirements of the project were:
- Control an electric motor over CAN based on machine attachment requirements
- Protect the batteries from low discharge / overcharge
- Provide key statistics to indicate machine performance
- Provide alarm diagnostics
- Provide the user with flexible settings to manipulate machine performance
- Full remote viewing of key parameters
- Remote control for starting / stopping / immobilising the machine
PnP took these requirements and decided to use the DSE M840 display and the Galileosky 7x LTE unit.

This gave PnP the ability to program the units to the exact requirements of the customer. Some of the many features that were implemented included:
- A modern graphical display to show motor speed, battery SOC and operating mode on one screen.
- A simplistic control interface so that users could control operations with a single button press.
- Automatic alerts were set up for key alarms which we showed locally on the display and remotely on a web portal.
- The Galileosky device was used as both a telemetry device and to communicate status of input information over CAN to the display to make wiring easier.
- Automatic weekly reports were set up to show how many hours the machine was running on one full battery charge.
- Start / Stop and immobilisation functionality on both a web interface and a mobile phone App were achieved over CAN.
- Last known information was always stored on the server with the ability to go further back in time through a full reporting mechanism.
- Full breadcrumb tracking history with in-depth information on speed travelled and stops made.

The development was a success, and the manufacturer will continue to build these machines in the future.
