PNP have successfully implemented a custom telematics solution for a leading UK rental fleet. 

The requirements of the project were: 

- Ability to track assets accurately and be alerted when they leave / enter geofenced areas 

- Ability to read data from rental assets over CAN such as engine speed / engine fault codes

- Ability to start / stop the asset remotely 

- Ability to immobilise the asset remotely  

- Ability to run reports on assets 

- Mobile phone App 

PnP took these requirements and decided to use the market leading Galileosky 7x LTE tracking unit.

This gave PnP the ability to program the units to the exact requirements of the customer. Some of the many features that were implemented included: 

- Automatic alerts were set up for low fuel level of an asset.

- Automatic weekly reports were set up to show engine hours run.

- Start / Stop and immobilisation functionality on both a web interface and a mobile phone App. 

- Geofences were set up around key depots to alert people if an asset had arrived / gone out on hire. 

- Last known information was always stored on the server with the ability to go further back in time through a full reporting mechanism.

- Accelerometer parameters were used to indicate if the asset was on the move / a panel door had been opened. 

- Full breadcrumb tracking history with in-depth information on speed travelled and stops made.
